The dashboard additionally includes crime heat maps which give the user a better idea about where crime is happening. “The goal of this dashboard was not only to share crime-related data and information with our community, but also to do so in a way that is easily understood by a viewer,” said Chief Data Officer Dr. The tool was created by the city’s Office of Data Analytics in conjunction with the Dallas Police Department. The dashboard also includes year-over-year crime trends as well as metrics for violent crime, family violence, hate crime and murderĪccording to the city, the Crime Analytics Dashboard, among other things, displays more crime-related data than has previously been available to the public without compromising victim identify and sensitive data.Described as a “one-stop shop” for crime-related data, the site allows users to zero in on crime hot spots.The City of Dallas has launched the Crime Analytics Dashboard, an interactive website with data going back two years. ![]()
